This year for Pride Month, we let our Lion’s Pride show—with both proud allies and proud members of the LGBTQIA+ community taking the stage to teach the rest of our organization about true workplace inclusivity.
From a crash course in Pride History, the ABCs of SOGIESC, and lessons on creating a safe space, this was an important learning session for all.

Speakers Von Carolino, Tina-agel Romero, Lyssa Ajero, and Nina Unlay with Lead Culture Officer Kat Limchoc and Blackpencil Art Director Ciara Baello, who designed our beautiful Pride materials!
“I was getting a bit emotional because just the thought of having to meet 200,000 people to try to argue to pass a bill that gets us basic rights and standing up against discrimination, that should be something that we should be fighting for right now. But apparently, 200,000 people is what it takes,” said Von Carolino, Junior Planner at Leo Burnett Manila, about his experience marching at Pride for the first time alongisde the rest of Égalité Philippines.
As part of their commitment to championing diversity and inclusion, our four speakers had taken online courses to further educate themselves about gender, sexuality, and of course inclusivity. They then cascading their insights and lessons to the rest of Publicis Groupe Philippines.
"Allyship is so important. This moment would not be possible without allyship,” said Culture Business Partner Nina Unlay during her presentation about SOGIESC.
The session closed with newly appointed Country Head for Égalité Philippines Tina-agel Romero sharing her insights on how to make Publicis Groupe Philippines a safe space:
“Be out and proud. Indicate that you are a safe space for others. Use gender-neutral language or ask for pronouns. Have a non-discrimination policy in place. Support organizations and community events. And grow your community.”
